About the New Semester System
The WBCHSE has implemented a new four-semester structure for the Higher Secondary curriculum. A key feature of this system is its varied assessment style:
- Semesters 1 & 3: Focus on Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) to test reasoning skills.
- Semesters 2 & 4: Focus on short and descriptive answers to enhance writing ability.
The 3rd semester exams were conducted from September 8 to September 22, 2025, and saw approximately 6.45 lakh students appearing for the tests.
Students are advised to collect their original marksheets from their respective schools in due course.
